Mr. Billy Joe Criss “Billy Joe” was born in Crowell, Texas on September 30, 1941 to the parentage of Alanzo and Dora Criss. He attended school in Crowell and Vernon, Texas. Later the family moved to Fort Worth, Texas. It is here that he met the love of his life, Miss Effie Green. They were wed on April 30, 1965, the anniversary of the date they met. Billy Joe was a construction worker and he worked in various cities, on many roads and handled many different types of tractors and trucks. In 1987, he suffered a terrible accident from a crane that dropped and several of his bones were crushed. This left him unable to perform many of his normal tasks. He later became a mechanic and he could fix just about anything. He was a great friend and had a great heart. He is preceded in death by his parents; Alanzo and Dora Criss and two sons; Billy Joe and Eric Criss. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 53 years; Effie Criss, Children; Sharley Criss and Patrick Criss, grandchildren; Billy Criss McIntosh, Patrick A, Criss, Dominique Criss, Patrick L. Criss, Anaya Criss, Eric Criss, and Serenitee Lawerance; siblings: Dora Criss and Alonzo Criss, Jr.; inlaws; Roland R. Green, Nathaniel Green, Jewell L Hall, Bunny Ruth, Charles Green and Johnny Tillis, nieces and nephews; Sabrina Kearney, Kathy Jackson, Peggy A. Dorsey, Darell Criss, Michael Lane, Paul Lane, Alanzo Criss, Rodney Criss, Tonya Criss, Kieth Criss, Avery Criss, Debra Criss, Jackie Criss and a host of loving family and friends.
