Cappell Davis

A medal of freedom was awarded on March 16, 2016..not presented by man, but instead a Higher Calling. For on this date, Mr. CAPPE LL MCKENZIE DAVIS earned his medal, from our Heavenly Father. It was Januray 27, 1954 that Cappell McKenzie Davis was ushered into the world, a bright and healthy baby boy in Alexandria, LA to the proud parents to Mr. Cappell and Mrs. Eura Davis. Affectionately known as "Cap" and too many as Ralph or "Cappy, Jr.", he and his family relocated to Fort Worth, TX. He would later attend Saints Chapel Church of God In Christ in his youth. Cap was a proud and honored graduate of the historical I. M. Terrell High School, class of 1972. Upon completion of high school, Cap enlisted in the United States Armed Services, Division of the Army, where he served his country faithfully and proudly. After his tour of duty, Cappell was honorably discharged, earning several commendations for his service. Upon his return home he met the beautiful Vernice Brown Jones and her children. After a period of courtship the two become one in holy matrimony. After marriage the Lord blessed this union with a beautiful baby girl.wTracie Sharron. What a beautiful blended family Cap had. Upon the confession of his faith in Jesus Christ, "Cappy, Jr." found a spirit filled church family at Kingdom Building Bible Church. It was while visiting this church that he felt compelled to rededicate his life to Christ and united in service with Kingdom Building Bible Church, under the leadership of his nephew, Deshawn Davis. His faith never wavered as he endured as a good soldier. To know "Cap" was to know he enjoyed family time and family gathering. He took pleasure in barbequing for his family and friends. However, Cappell had another interest, his sports and his dogs; for these were great passions of his. On Wednesday, March 16, Cappell McKenzie Davis, received the greatest medal of freedom when God called him home from labor to reward. Those awaiting his arrival are his wife, Vernice; his parents, Cappell and Eura; his brother, James and other loved ones. Precious memories will forever linger in the hearts of his precious daughter, Tracie Davis; his adorable grandchildren, Trent, Dillion, Kaleb and Kaleigh; other children in love, Ebonie Alix (Noble), Melvin Jones, Jr. (CaTessa), Christy Shaheed (Burkari) and Candace Blaylock (Don, Jr.); caring siblings, Marilyn Turner, Bobbie Davis (Sandra), Eddie Davis, Sharon Diggs, Kathy Davis and Michael Davis; and a loving host of cousins, friends, his KBBC Church family and community.
