Carolyn Anderson

September 19, 1956 — August 31, 2020

Carolyn Anderson

Carolyn Anderson was born September 19, 1956 in Lake Charles, Louisiana as one of the eight children born to Joe Nathan and Hivana Anderson. She graduated from the historic Marion High School in Lake Charles in May of 1977. She went on to attend college at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. After a year in college, Carolyn decided to return to Lake Charles to pursue a career in sales.

Carolyn was independent and hardworking. She loved traveling; especially taking a cruise. Carolyn enjoyed cooking; she had a collection of pots and cookbooks, she was an avid reader; enjoyed spending time with the family and watching movies. Although she didn’t have any kids, she loved and took care of almost all of her nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was a member of Glad Tidings Church in Lake Charles where she was loved and will truly be missed. Those that knew her, knew she had a BIG heart and she was one of the watchmen on the walls (Prayer Warrior) for our family. She was a blessing to the small community she lived in. She blessed others with a meal, a prayer, a ride to the store or just a listening ear.

Carolyn accepted the call from her Heavenly Father on August 31, 2020. She has been awarded her beautiful Crown of Glory and is resting peacefully in His arms. She was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Archie Rankins (Frankie Mae Rankins) and some nieces and nephews.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories: Her siblings: Betty Stevens (Frank Stevens), Faye Moore (Neal Moore) , Johnathan Anderson (Debbie Anderson), Barbara Joseph (Vernon Joseph), Linda Anderson and Gregory Anderson (Veronica Anderson); twenty four nieces and nephews, over thirty-five great nieces and nephews and over twenty-six great-great nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and beloved friends.
