Edward Hickson, Jr.

Edward Hickson, Jr, 74, traded his earthly garments for a robe in glory on Monday, December 18, 2017. VISITATION: Wednesday, December 27, 2017 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. SERVICES: Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Both services will take place within the hallowed halls of the Mount Olive Baptist Church, 301 Sanford St., Arlington, Texas. INTERMENT: Moore Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hickson was born in Jacksonville, FL and was an alumnus of the historic Grambling State University Panthers. He was a veteran of these United States serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. After his discharge, he then began working as an Air Traffic Controller retiring in 2007. He was an active member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church where he served on the usher board. He was one of the founding members of of the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees and a PATCO member. He enjoyed playing dominoes, pool, backgammon, chess or racquetball. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ruth Hickson; four children: Monica (Clarence), Renee, Michael (Melissa) and Aleshia (Calvin); siblings: Leila Boatright, Anthony Hickson, Sr. (Regina), and Cleasie Hickson; ten grandchildren, Kevin, Nichole, Christopher, Mia, Roosevelt, Olivia, Marques, Mackenzie, Maceo and Madison; four great grandchildren: Ariah, Raegyn, Cadence and Grayson; nephews, nieces, The City View Care Center family and staff and a host of other relatives and friends.
