Henry Reed

Henry B. 'Hank' and Clarice Ragland Reed crossed from life to eternity Friday, July 27, 2012, and Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at local care centers. Celebration of life: Noon Saturday, Aug. 4, at Sweet Home Baptist Church, 5225 Ramey Ave., the Rev. James C. Brown officiating. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. You may visit Henry and Clarice as they lie together in sweet slumber noon to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, in the Tranquility Chapel of Serenity Funerals & Cremations. Henry and Clarice were united in holy matrimony in May 1972 and celebrated 40 years of marriage. They were longtime members of Sweet Home Baptist Church and worked in different capicities at the church. Henry was owner of Henry Reed Trucking Co. and Clarice was an assembler for General Motors Corp. in Arlington. Survivors: Henry is survived by his children, Deloncia Reed-Gilstrap (Greg), Henry Reed Jr. (Ann), Brookie Reed, Kathy Reed and Reginald Ragland (Doretha); sisters, Bobbie Hamblin, Shirley Brown (R.C.) and Lubirtha Taylor (Leroy); 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Clarice is survived by her husband; her children, Deloncia Reed-Gilstrap (Greg) and Reginald Ragland (Doretha); brother, Leroy Ragland; sisters, Currie B. Burton (Harvey) and Jessie B. Pipkins; grandchildren, Caleb Reed, Zane Gilstrap, Essence Ragland, Jeremy, Jason and Joyune Foster; great-grandchildren, Xavier and Nolyn; and a host of other relatives and friends.
