Horace Brewer, Jr.

Horace Brewer, Jr. was born August 31, 1942 in Hope, Arkansas to the parentage of Horace Brewer, Sr. and Charlene L. (Pearson) Brewer.
Horace received his formal education in Hope, Arkansas, attending Lincoln High School. He accepted Christ into his life and was baptized in 1967. He attended church at Santa Monica Church of Christ, Stop 6 Church of Christ of Fort Worth and later relocated his membership to West Vickery Church of Christ in Fort Worth, Texas where he was a Deacon and Usher until his health failed. He loved the Lord!
He met and later married the love of his life, Mattie F. Brewer.
Horace drove charter and tour buses for Greyhound. He loved his family, especially his wife who was dedicated to his care during his entire illness. He loved riding his motorcycle with his brother-in-law, Bobby Washington. He enjoyed fishing in his bass boat, walking, taking his grandchildren to and from school until he became disabled.
Horace departed this earthly life on August 18, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Brewer, Sr. and Charlene L. (Pearson) Brewer; sister, Lucille; brothers, Dannie Brewer, Charles Brewer, Curly B. and Joe Issac.
Left to cherish his memories: his devoted wife of 52 years, Mattie F. Brewer; children, Yolanda Michelle Brewer (Hezekiah Jackson) and Gwendolyn Brewer; six grandchildren, Tevin Brewer, Tiara Brewer, Tyesha Brewer, Akeila Brewer, Ja’Marion Brewer, and M’Kenzie Brewer; two great grandchildren, Madison and Dominique Brewer; sister, Etta Joe Gray of Hope, Arkansas; in-laws, Blanche Brewer, Bobby &Mary Washington, Florence Funnels, Troy Runnels, and Johnny Runnels (Brenda); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that loved him dearly.
