Jada Latessia Williams

Jada LATessia Williams, loving daughter to Phyllis and Dexter Givens, Sr., beloved sister to Dexter Givens Jr. & Isiah Givens was born June 5, 1981 at ST. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana. She spent all of her childhood and most of her teenage years growing up amongst her two younger brothers.

Jada began her educational tenure with attending Swayze Elementary School, Riser Junior High School, and during her early years of high school at Grambling High School.

At the age of 16 years old, Jada and her family moved from Monroe, Louisiana to Fort Worth, Texas. Jada then finished her high school education at OD Wyatt High School where she was the proud graduate of the Class of 1999. Shortly after graduating, her collegiate education began when she was awarded a Internship to Orlando Fl., and scholarship to Tarrant Community College. Upon completing her basic studies at Tarrant Community College, she furthered her studies at Northwood University where she graduated to earn her Associates Degree and bachelor’s degree of Science. She continued to further her education at Walden University and earned her Master’s Degree of Reading And Literacy. She took a particular interest in education and began her career at Fort Worth Independent School District, Castleberry ISD, Metro Academy of Math And Science, Harmony Academy, She taught and tutored elementary students. While working at Harmony Academy tutoring students, she was afforded an opportunity to advance her career at the University of Texas Arlington. As she continued to strive in excellence with her educational career, she was offered a position at the Remington college to work as an Student Financial Aid Advisor, she was also working at Tarrant Community College as a ESL Adjunct Instructor Teaching English to Non-Native Speakers. She soon transitioned to Texas Wesleyan as a Reading Professor, where she continued to teach until God called her home.

She was influenced by her parents to love Jesus and to always give him praise through good and bad circumstances. She loved her church where she actively volunteered. Outreach Ministry, Usher, Teaching Young Adult, and Adult classes. She was delighted to serve on the board of trustees. She loved praising the Lord. She was a loving, ambitious, Kind, caring, generous, woman. She had a passion for cultivating relationships with many and she will be greatly missed by her family, friends, students. and especially her nieces Daylin and Oaklyn Givens.

God saw that Jada had completed her journey on Earth, so He dispatched his Angels to move her to her Heavenly Home on Friday, October 28, 2022, at the tender age of 41. She was preceded in death by her father, Mose Williams; maternal grandparents: James Whitmore and Onice Whitmore; paternal grandparents; her aunt, Lillian Kay Williams; her uncle, Hardy Overton Sr, aunt, Pearlie Mae Furlow.

Jada leaves to honor her legacy and cherish her memory her loving and devoted parents: Phyllis Whitmore Givens and Dexter Givens Sr.; two brothers: Dexter Givens, Jr., and Isiah Givens; special cousins who were more like her brothers: Terrell Green, Cliffton Furlow, and Lorenzo Brown; two loving nieces: Daylin Givens, and Oaklyn Givens; Concord Baptist Church Family. A host of aunts, cousins, relatives, and friends. She will truly be missed by all who loved her dearly.
