James Craven

Rev. James Willis Cravin was born June 18, 1956 to the parentage of Gene A. Cravin and Cleotha Cravin of Palestine, Texas. He received his formal education at Steven F. Austin High School and TSU. With the blessing of being raised in a loving, Christian home, James was baptized at an early age and was a member of Young Church Evangelist Temple.  In 1996 he began his own Ministry at Good News Church of God in Christ. Later in life, he united with Zion Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Kendall Johnson. James was an Associate Minister at Zion Temple Church of God in Christ until he departed this life. He was employed at Chef Produce where he retired. On early Sunday morning, December 6, 2015 the Lord called to James “Come home and take rest”.  He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Cravin; mother, Cleotha Cravin; sisters; Cheryl Ann Cravin and Donna Antione.  Those left to cherish his undying memories are his caring and   devoted wife, Dorothy Cravin of Houston, Texas; two sons, James Willis Andrews and Montreal Cravin; stepchildren, Henry Bowie Jr, Lee Bowie, Tena Bowie, Christina Bowie, and Henrietta Garner all of Houston, Texas; Tondra LaGrone (Gary) of Ft Worth, Texas; Cassandra Robinson and DeAngelo Williams (Megan) both of Houston, Texas, two sisters, Yvette Jimeno (Adon) and Henrietta Britton of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Gregory Cravin and Donald R. Cravin of Houston, Texas; two nieces, Ebony Walker (Eli) and Tre'nae Smith of Houston, Texas; four nephews, Billy James Cravin Sr (Lisa), Darcecus Britton (Jynnelle), Evert Britton and Dontrall Britton all of  Houston, Texas; best friends, Rev. Joshua Collins and Darryl Johnson of Houston, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
