You may visit him at the funeral Saturday, from 9-11am. Mr. James Earl Perry, a native of Marshall, Texas, transitioned from earth to glory on December 15, 2014. He was born to the parentage of James Earl and Corrie Jones Perry, Sr., on February 18, 1949. He was reared, along with his sister, Jeanette, in a loving and nurturing Christian home. Jimmy was educated in the Fort Worth Independent School District; attending Rosedale Park Elementary and graduating from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School, home of the "Wildcats". Upon completion of high school, Jimmy matriculated on the campus of Texas Christian University, where he majored in Communications. As a child, Jimmy and his family were active members of Saint Andrews United Methodist Church. He grew up participating, as most boys, with the Cub Scotts; this would earn him an Eagle Scott medal. For you see, Jimmy was a very loving and caring person that loved life and people. Everyone that met him was always captivated by his smile and personality. He tried to good by everyone he encounter, for he believed in the golden rule, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Mr. Perry was employed with Millers/Coors Brewery, where he worked as a Fork Lift Operator. As an employee, he served as part of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters-AFLCIO. When he was not working he would spent his leisure time reading, working on old cars and analyzing politics and the U.S. Government. On December 15, Jimmy heard the command of the Lord, "come unto me all you that are heavy laden, and I will give you rest". He is now welcomed into heaven where he will be reunited with his father, James Perry, Sr., parents, James and Corrie Smith. Those left with fond memories of James is his sister, Ozia Jeanette Perry, of Carson, California; aunt, Lucille Garrett of Marshall, TX; cousins; Faye L Stansberry, Molly Montgomery and James Crain; Special devoted friends; Mrs. Johnnie Jones, Mrs. Johnnye J. Hughes, the Victoria Place and Carverly Avenue neighborhood and a host of loving family and friends.
