Lee Stewart, Sr

Mr. Lee Dell Stewart was born in Lake Providence, Louisiana on May 2, 1940, to the proud parentage of L. T. and Luvenia   Stewart. He was reared in a loving Christian home with his   siblings, Maggie, Pearlie, Dorothy, Dorothy Mae, Eugene and Willie “Jack”. One could just image all the laughter and comradery these siblings had with one another. Lee Dell was educated in the Lake Providence Independent School District; graduating from G. W. Griffin High School. At a period of time after graduating high school, Mr. Stewart moved west to that great western city of Fort Worth in 1965. It was there he found employment with Texas Steel Incorporated. He retired from there with over twenty-five years of dedicated and committed service. He then began work, again, with     Lockheed Martin, for a brief but dedicated time. Mr. Stewart was the proud father of Lee II, Earl Lee, Lee III, Frankie and Leemeko. Mr. Stewart was a man that enjoyed sports; Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks being his favorite teams. Lee Dell was a man who had great faith in Jesus Christ. He served as a Deacon at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church for three decades under the pastorate of his brother, Pastor Eugene Stewart. He then united with Forest Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon as well.   He was an avid reader of the Holy word and knew the value of praying. He always placed God, family and man before himself, and led a life of faith, goodness, righteousness and purity of spirit that was beyond compare. His life on earth and surely beyond, is so well declared in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, “ he fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith-now there will be in store for him a crown of righteousness”. Deacon Lee Dell Stewart, Sr. was preceded in death by his    parents, L. T. and Luvenia Stewart; a son, Frankie and one brother, Rev. Eugene Stewart. Deacon Lee Dell Stewart leaves precious memories in the hearts of his children, Lee Stewart, II (Donna), Earl Lee Stewart, Lee Stewart, III (LaToya) and Leemeko Wheaton (Montraile); siblings, Maggie Bagley, Pearlie Reed, Dorothy Berry (John),  Dorothy Steward and Willie “Jack” Stewart; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
