Servant of God "Well Done, battle fought, victory won, now rest well in the Saviors Arms." McClendon Moody, transitioned from this life to life eternal Saturday, March 10, 2018, two days before his 86th birthday. CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1188 East Broad Street, Dr. Michael A. Evans Sr. pastor/officiating. Mr. Moody will be laid to rest in the garden of Devotion in Skyvue Memorial Gardens. He will lie in sweet repose at his beloved church Friday, noon until the wake at 7 p.m. Mr. Moody was a devoted Christian man and served in the Bethlehem Baptist Church for many years and served with gladness as church Deacon, Men's Chorus, and many other capacities. He was also the first African-American to be elected to the Mansfield City Counsel and inspired many others to excel in city and state office. SURVIVORS: His children, Alma Dudley (Henry), Michael Moody (Arnetta), DeWayne Moody (Anna), and Tommy Moody; sister, Leona Moody; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces; nephews, Dr. Michael Evans and the Bethlehem Church Family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
