Just a Glimpse Michael Bryme Johnson, also known as “Mitch”,  was born on August 10, 1958 to Mrs. Thelma Johnson and Mr. Joseph Jacquet in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Michael accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Michael also served in the U.S. Army from May 1976 to November 1978. At the age of 17 Michael learned one of his greatest skills from his grandfather the late Levi Johnson and that was the job of a plumber. Michael was a plumber for over 38 years. He was very skillful with his hands and could even remodel an entire house among other God gifted skills that he possessed. Michael moved to Texas in 1992 and began working at Reed Plumbing as a licensed plumber, where he had been employed for 22 years until the time of his death. In February of 1994, Michael met the love of his life the former Carol Evans and they were united in holy matrimony on August 5, 1995. They shared a loving marriage for 19 years. Michael loved his wife dearly and also developed a close relationship and a strong unbreakable bond with her daughter LaToya James who he loved so much. LaToya loved and looked up to Michael as her dad for life. On September 6, 2011,  Michael and Carol were blessed with their hearts desire and that was being the grandparents of Chloe James. Michael loved Chloe so much and would always call her “Paw Paw’s Pretty Baby” and spent  every minute he could with her. Michael also enjoyed fishing and has taught several  individuals how to master that skill. He was also a faithful New Orleans Saints fan and he loved reggae music with his favorite being Bob Marley. Besides the strong  relationship he has with his nieces and nephews, Michael was also a mentor to a host of individuals who looked up to him as a dad and some called him “Uncle Michael”. Michael was a very outgoing and kind hearted person. He loved the Lord and lived a life that possessed a strong work ethic, care and concerns for other and he was one that believed in the power of prayer. He was a strong family man and a good friend to everyone he came in contact with. Michael sowed a seed everywhere he went.  Michael Johnson joined Good Shepherd Temple of Praise under the leadership of    Charlie E. Nickerson and became a doorkeeper for the Lord. He loved meeting and greeting people every Sunday and he never met a stranger. He changed his membership to Dayspring Family Church under the leadership of Bishop Kevin K. Dickerson and continued his passion and love for Christ as a doorkeeper. On Thursday the Twenty-fourth of July, Michael Johnson was summoned by his heavenly father to take off his earthly robe and receive his long white robe and eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his mother Thelma Alexander, father Joseph Jacquet,   brother Stanley Jacquet and sister Denise Jacquet. He leaves to cherish his loving wife Carol Johnson; daughters LaToya James and        Lindsay Marts; granddaughter Chloe James; sister Della Holdman (Kevin); brothers,  Steve Johnson (Rose), Ricky Jacquet and Dennis Jacquet; sisters-in-law, Delores Evans (Michael) and Paula Jacquet; brothers-in-law, Richard Evans Jr. and Ronald Evans (Deborah); mother and father-in-law, Richard and Lonnie Evans; Godchildren,        Kaitlin, Tatyana, Alexis and Tiyana; niece’s, Brittany, Tabitha, Jordan, Mackenzie,    Treva, Jakeriah, Tearney, Aubrey, Teira, Tyanna and Keiyona; nephew’s, Ronald Jr., Cameron, Christopher, Tristan, Deondrick, Javaughn and a host of other relatives and friends.
