Mozell Goodson

Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11am at the Good Hope Baptist Church located at 2521 Bishop St. You may visit her at the funeral home on Friday, January 23 from Noon- 5pm and on Saturday at the church from 9am-11am. Mozell Bell life began in the great city of Houston,  Texas, where she was born in the   summer of 1942, June 5 to be exact. She was reared along with her siblings, Maurice, Shirley, and Lee Arthur in a Christian home full of love by their parents, Caz and Emily Lee Bell in Burton, Texas.. She was a member of Greater Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Sherman Johnson. In 2012 Mother Goodson was crowned, “Mrs. Greater Hope”, a title she wore proudly and reverently.  In addition to being crowned   “Mrs. Greater Hope” she was a very faithful and dedicated usher. She believed in Psalm 84:10, “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand, I’d rather be a doorkeeper in the house of God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness”. Mother Goodson, enjoyed cooking, especially for her family and church family.  Mother Goodson transitioned from earth to glory on January 15, 2015. Her life on earth, and surely beyond, is well declared in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, “she fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith, now there will be in store for her a crown of righteousness”.  Those who await Mother Mozell Bell Goodson’s arrival in heaven are her parents; brother, Lee Arthur Bell; grandparents; Mr. & Mrs. Bell; Mr. & Mrs. J. D. Edmond. She also had a beloved pet-Tuffy that preceded her in death.  She shall forever be remembered in the lives of those who await the great coronation, her brother, Maurice Bell (Bonnie); sister, Shirley Davis (Henry) of Houston, Texas; special friend, Anthony Haywood, nephews, Rev. Rodrick Bell (Gloria), Steve Bell (Berna), and Sean Davis; nieces, Rayna   Phillips (Randall), Terrie Phillips (Joseph); and her Greater Hope church family, along with a host of other loving family members and friends.
