Nicholas Samuel, Sr.

Nicholas Samuel, Sr. was born to Lawrence Samuel, Sr. and Helen Diane Samuel on March 19, 1972 in Long Beach, California. In 1976, the family relocated to Fort Worth, Texas, the birthplace of his mother, where he grew up in Stop Six and attended Paul Laurence Dunbar Senior High School.

Nicholas later married Mrs. Ruth Samuel. Nicholas had three children from this union - Crystal Sadberry, Nicole Samuel and Nicholas Samuel, Jr. Nicholas had three other children - Tenilya Samuel, Nic’Karrin Samuel and Nakya Samuel. Nicholas was blessed with one grandchild, Na’Arrah Faith Samuel. Nicholas Accepted Christ and was baptised on April 15, 2020. He was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, in Fort Worth, Tx.

Nicholas is survived by his wife, beloved children and grandchild, mother, Helen Samuel, uncle, Eddie Lee Samuel, two brothers, Lawrence Samuel, Jr. and Mark Anthony Samuel, two nieces, Lyrri Samuel and Emma Samuel, and first cousins, Harold Samuel, Barbara Rowden, Sandra Ashley, Carol Felder and Edward Samuel.

Other relatives include Tiffany Thurman (Nakya), Tracy Flowers (Tenilya), Jackie Craig (Nic’Karrin), his cousins, Rayvonne Price, Terrance Price, Lon Price, Barron Roney, Eric Booker, Kenneth Roney, Ruby Gentry, Diona Roney, Omega Roney, Ruthie Mae Johnson, Mary Bacy, Cheryl Bacy, Samuel Bacy, Jr., Derrick Lagrone, Eric Jackson, Marcellas Laster, Kathy Laster, Charles Laster, Shellette Flournoy and his dear friends, Ed Biggins, Meshaw Harrison, Donald Smith, Derrick Huckaby, Andrea Renee Levi, Mildred Scott and too many others to mention.

Nicholas was a jovial person who had an infectious laugh. He enjoyed listening to music, playing basketball, fishing and cooking. We will always remember him for one of his favorite phrases, “Whatever you do, make sure you’re happy!”

Nicholas was called home on December 26, 2022. He was preceded in death by Lawrence Samuel, Sr., (Father); Annie L. Jackson (Maternal Grandmother), Moses Holloway (Maternal Grandfather) and Emma Samuel (Paternal Grandmother).
