Odell Lewis

Service will be held on June 28 in the Clarence Jimerson memorial Chapel at 11am. Mr. Odell “Shane” Lewis, was born in the town of Karnack, TX in Harrison County. He was reared in a loving and caring environment with his parents, Edgar Lewis, Sr. and Emmie Durham, along with his siblings, Frank, Edgar, Edward, Claude, Margaret, Carrie, Emma and Eva Mae.  As a child “Shane” was educated in the Harrison County Public Schools, graduating from historical George Carver High School. His family was active members of Mount Ridge Church, in Karnack. Odell was an avid fisherman; he could bait and reel in fish from any body of water. When he wasn’t fishing, he was watching sports, hanging with his buddies drinking coffee and slapping those “bones”-dominoes. However, his most prize winning hobby was mastering and teaching the art of barbequing.  You talk about someone who could “fire up a pit”, Shane was the true “grill    master” Shane was employed with Bumper Services of Fort Worth for  several years before retiring. He also worked for the  Tarrant County Sheriff Department as a Reserve Deputy Lieutenant. On June 24, 2014, comforted by his family, Odell Lewis entered into the pearly gates of heaven where he met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is now reunited with his parents, his brothers, Edward and Claude, his sisters, Carrie and Margaret. Odell will forever be in the hearts and minds of those he leaves behind, his son, Darrin Lewis, of Houston, TX, step-daughter, Lisa Howard, grandchildren, Chris Pouncy, Sr., Darian “Punkin” Lewis and Phillip Richardson, his great grandchildren, Chris Pouncy, Jr., and Kaleb Richardson, his siblings, Emma L. Johnson, of Karnack, TX, Eva Mae Jackson, Colorado Springs, CO, Frank Willis, of Marshall, TX, Edgar Lewis, Jr., of Fort Worth, TX, an uncle, Raymond Lewis, aunt, Gladys Lewis, sister in law, Annie May Lewis, host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He leaves precious memories with his special friend, Loretta Conish.
