MURRAY ROBERT B. MURRAY JR. July 19, 1932-December 23, 2013 "A life that touched many lives; A life that will live in our hearts forever." Mr. Robert B. Murray Jr. was born in New Orleans, La. July 19,1932 to the union of Corinne and Robert Murray Sr. Robert grew up in the 7th Ward, where he was baptized at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and accepted our lord Jesus Christ. Robert graduated from Joseph S. Clark Senior High School. Following his graduation, Robert joined the U.S. Army. He returned home and graduated from Straight Business School. In 1955 he married Bertha Dominique and was blessed with five children. Robert participated in playing basketball during his school years and he loved sports. He was also known as "Robbie". He had many words of good cheers and laughter. Robert worked at Sears where he later retired. In 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, Robert relocated to Houston, Tx., where he made his home for eight years. Due to Robert's illness, he remained in Houston Tx. Robert joined the ST. John Neumann Catholic Church where he was an active member until his death. Robert was preceded in death by his father Robert Murray Sr., mother Corinne M. Dominique and his sister Catherine D. Fernandez. Robert leaves to cherish his precious memory, a loving wife Bertha of 58 years of marriage; Sons Robert III and his wife Betty, Steve, Austin and Zander Ann Murray, who all live in New Orleans, La. His son Gary Murray resides in Houston. Robert is survived by two brothers Marlon Dominique and his wife Jewel; Lacey Dominique and his wife Cathy; Seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends. A Celebration of the Life and Christian Faith of Robert B. Murray Jr. will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2013 at Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 7300 Crowder Boulevard, New Orleans, La. 70127. Christian Mass 11AM. Visitation 9AM-11AM. Celebrant Rev. Monsignor Earl Gauthreaux, Pastor. Interment: Mount Olivet Mausoleum, 4000 Norman Mayer Ave., N.O. La. 70122.
