Walter Gordon

“To everything there is a season; a time to be born”...Ecclesiastes 3:1 Walter Farish Gordon was born on July 18, 1939 to the union of Oscar and Mary Gordon in Magnolia, Mississippi.  The family would later relocate to New Orleans, Louisiana. “When I was a child”… II Corinthians 13:11 He was the youngest boy of nine children. Walter grew up in a very loving home. He enjoyed hanging around with his siblings and other family and friends. “A time to love’….Ecclesiastes 3:4 While working for Delta Container Company,  he met and    married Shirley Marshall in 1989. They shared many wonderful years together until the Lord called her home. He called New  Orleans, LA home until 2005 when he relocated to Houston TX. “I am now ready to be offered”… II Timothy 4:6 On March 21, 2015,  the Lord said “Come unto me” and our  beloved  Walter has now been reunited with his father and mother, his wife and several siblings. “I will not leave you comfortless”…St. John 14:13 He leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters, Mary L. Gordon, Lynell Hunter, and Rhonda Neville. One son, Johnny Rainey.  One brother, Emory Gordon of Dover, DE, two sisters Gerald Abram of Rantoul, IL, and Vivian Gordon of New Orleans, LA, nine grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
