William Harrison

William Thomas Harrison, Jr. was born June 30, 1967, in Fairfield,    Texas to the parentage of the late Carol Sue Brackens and William T. Harris, Sr.  The family moved to Fort Worth when William and his     sister, Jacqueline were very young.  He attended Polytechnic High School, where  he played football and was very active with the Debate team.  During his tenure there, he developed many friendships that would prove to be lifelong and  a very treasured part of his life. Upon graduation, he briefly attended Prairie View A&M University with a desire to study to become an attorney. He returned to Fort Worth and began a career as a General Manager for Grandy’s Family Restaurant and Taco Bueno Mexican Restaurant. In 2006, William suffered a health crisis which resulted in a permanent vision loss.  Idly sitting by in a life of darkness was not an option for him. He enrolled in Tarrant County College and graduated with honors in 2012. He continued his pursuit of becoming an attorney by enrolling in Texas Wesleyan University as a Political Science major. He was scheduled to take the LSAT in February and graduate in May of this year.  He was a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), Mortar Board, 3PR, and Phi Alpha Delta (Pre-Law Honor Society).  He also completed his internship which focused on people not allowing their disabilities from preventing them to attend law school or reaching their goals.  William was an example of this. William accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. While his health prohibited his regular attendance to church in recent years, his thirst for the Word of God could not be quenched. William  never met a stranger and had a charisma about him that made you feel as if you were long-life friends. His wit, wisdom, and “every ready” words of encouragement will live on in our hearts. Those left to cherish William’s memory: sister, Jacqueline Harrison, her sons: Cory Harrison, Broderick Harrison, and Odell Johnson, IV, her grandchildren, all of Fort Worth, TX. His beloved aunt, Louise Davis of Hempstead, TX. His special loved one and her family, Talrece James of Fort Worth, TX; his beloved godchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, classmates and his companion dog, Lucy.
