Bishop Emery Sumberlin Jr.

Was born April 23, 1960, to the Union of Emery Sumberlin, Sr. and Tenzie Ruth McCray. He graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1978 and later attended Texas Wesleyan and Calvary Cathedral where he earned his Associate Degree in Divinity.

Bishop Emery accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1992 at Gospel Temple Christ Holy Sanctified Church under the leadership of Bishop E.L. McBride.

Bishop served as the Pastor and Overseer of Throne of Grace International Church for 21 years, and was also the Supervisor at W. Pat Crow for 24 years before going into full time ministry.

41 years ago Bishop Emery married the love of his life Anna Winkfield Sumberlin, and to this Union 3 children were born in addition to Bishops eldest daughter.

He later opened the Throne of Grace Learning Center where he served as Owner and Director for 11 years.

Bishop Sumberlin enjoyed traveling (especially near water), reading, family time, church fellowship, sports, eating, and making people laugh.
