Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11am, Capstone Church 4822 SW Loop 820, Benbrook, Texas. You may visit her at the funeral home on Friday, March 30, 2018 from Noo-5:30pm and the family will receive friends from 5:30-6:30pm. Candace (“Candy”) Charisse Glover was born in Fort Worth, TX on March 22, 1956 to Raymond Glover and Bobbie Jean Aldridge. She had two sisters, older sibling, Cynthia Prejean and, younger sibling, Veronica Glover. In 1974, Candace graduated from Jesse H Jones High School in Houston, Texas. Candy was a talented track athlete. She attended Prairie View A&M University with Olympic ambitions. In college she met Derek Hanks and conceived a son she named Ciceron Glover. After a short-lived marriage, Candace was divorced and settled in Fort Worth, Texas to raise her son and acquire employment to provide for herself and her child. Candy worked at Bank One until she was eventually hired by Bell Helicopter Textron. After many years with Bell, she was laid off and was forced to reinvent herself. Candace believed she could impact the lives of others in addition to earning a living and she became an educator in an alternative school in Dallas. A few years after her career change, she was employed by Crowley ISD at North Crowley High school. She taught business computer information systems, business information management, entrepreneurship & accounting, advisor of the future business leaders of America, and coached girls basketball and track & field. Since early in her adulthood, Candace was a believer and professed her faith & love for her Creator and His Son Jesus. She attended Beth Eden Baptist Church where she worked with the drill team and sang in the Choir. While attending bible study in the home of Mable Hayward, she was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Candace joined the Golden Gate Church of God in Christ and taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, was an actress in plays and worked with the drill team. Regularly, she assisted the Chaplain at the Dallas VA North Texas Healthcare System by singing at Sunday morning worship services and ministering to the veterans. Annually, Candy visited her mother in Houston and fed the homeless and less fortunate during the holidays as part of the Christian Rescue Mission Ministry. Candace enrolled in college decades after dropping out of PVAMU and completed a Bachelors of Applied Arts & Science at Dallas Baptist University. She completed a Masters of Education & Technology at American College of Education. Candy joined the Capstone Church and enjoyed worshipping and fellowshipping with her Capstone family. She traveled abroad as part of the Capstone Ministry to the “Holy Land” of Israel, Africa, India & Belize. Candace enjoyed traveling on cruise ships and her travels to Europe with Catherine Duncan. Candace is survived by a son and daughter in law, 3 grandchildren, mother, 2 sisters, 2 half-brothers, 2 great-aunts, 1 great-uncle, 1 nephew, countless friends, co-workers, and students.
