Donald Baker was born on January 7, 1950 to Henry Baker and Jessie Mae Pelton. He had eleven siblings, six brothers and five sisters. He graduated from Dunbar High School in Mexia, Texas in 1967 and would go on to earn a Bachelors in Education from Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas in 1972. He worked at Hearne High School, teaching Physical Education and coaching the football team. He married Georgia Faye Stevenson on January 15, 1973. Two years later, they relocated to Fort Worth, Texas where Donald would work at Union Pacific as a conductor until retirement in 2012. He joined Highland Hills Baptist Church on September 21, 1980, where he was training to be a deacon at the time of his death. He loved fishing, shooting pool, traveling, attending bike rallies, and watching western TV shows.
He was preceded in death by: wife, Georgia F. Baker; sisters, Mary Ann Zamora, Henrietta Carter, Myrtle Robinson, Maggie Agers, and Betty King; brothers, Leon Baker and Eugene Baker.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: children, Cassandra Sadberry (Charles), Donald Baker (Deniah), and Jessica Baker; siblings, Leonard, Jimmy Baker, Milton Baker, and Emmanuel Baker; grandchildren, Christopher Hill, Kiara Baker, Harold Lampkin, LeAysia Lampkin, Jalen Winborn, Brittany Johnson, Sumia Baker, Kali Baker, and Jamarion Griffin; five great-grandchildren, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
