On a winter day, the 14 th of January to be exact in the year of 1962, a baby was
born in the Broussard’s home to Lincoln and Dorothy Broussard, Sr. All of this
took place in Lafayette, Louisiana and they named their son, Harvey.
Harvey grew up and attended the public school in Loreauville, Louisiana. He was a
talented track athlete at Loreauville High school and was offered a track
scholarship.
At an early age Harvey accepted Christ as his Personal Savior and was baptized at
Saint John Baptist Church in Belle Place, Louisiana.
A cute young lady caught Harvey’s eye by the name of Stacey Polk and a courtship
evolved. The “High School Sweethearts” were later married on June 11 th , 1983,
and to that union seven children were born.
Harvey enjoyed fishing, barbequing, cooking, baking, riding his four wheeler,
playing the guitar and piano, and cutting grass. He was so proud of his 40 year
trucking career that brought him joy and provided for his family. He was also an
avid Dallas Cowboy fan, but he loved and enjoyed nothing more than his family,
and he cherished every moment spent with them.
The final whistle blew on Friday, September 16th, 2022 for Harvey Broussard, Sr.
to trade this earthly home for his new Home that awaits him. The Lord allowed
Harvey to share 60 years of living on this earth. Harvey is preceded in death by
his parents Lincoln and Dorothy Broussard; sister, Betty Bruno; brothers, Wilfred
Broussard and Lincoln Broussard, Jr.
