Miriam Lynn Ramos passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014. Miriam was a strong girl from the start who defied the odds set against her at birth. She didn't let her disabilities of hydrocephalus, hydranencephaly, cerebral palsy and other limitations keep her from being a happy, smiling little girl. She was kissed by a dolphin in Jamaica, went on a pirate ship in the Caribbean, swam in the waters in Mexico. Miriam loved going to school at Jo Kelly. On Tuesday, Jan. 21, she was diagnosed with three very aggressive brain tumors. By Saturday, Jan. 25, the cancer took its toll. She passed away that evening in her parents' arms with her family present. Survivors: Miriam is survived by her parents, April Marie and Israel Toledo; her maternal grandparents, Ramiro and Jean Ramos; her paternal grandparents, Pablo and Soledad Toledo; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
