Q.T.’ s Story “To everything there is a season; a time to be born”...Ecclesiastes 3:1 On a cool fall day in October 1933, on the nineteenth, a bouncing baby girl was born to Birt Allen Sr. and Ophelia Wiley-Allen. They choose to name her Q.T. “When I was a child”… II Corinthians 13:11 Q.T. was educated in the Butler School District attended Butler High School. She accepted Christ at an early age. Q.T. grew up in a loving home with her nine siblings. There was never a dull moment in the Allen home. “A time to love’….Ecclesiastes 3:4 She was an amazing person with a heart of gold. She was so full of life and would light up any room. Q.T. loved her family and hanging out with friends. She loved to bake and cook for her family and countless friends. Q.T. joined with the Highland Park Baptist Church and was a faithful member for over 50 years. She later became one of the founding members of the Greater Love Baptist Church where she served as Mother of the Church. She had a deep love for the Lord and the work of the church. She was often at various church functions, serving wherever she could. “I am now ready to be offered”… II Timothy 4:6 On July 6, 2014, while preparing to go to church she fell sick and on July 7, the Lord said “come unto me all ye that are heavy laden, and I will give thee rest” and our beloved Q.T. answered. She has now been reunited with parents; Birt Allen Sr. and Ophelia Allen, sister; Mary Alice Allen, brothers; Mackdale Allen and Bert Allen Jr. “I will not leave you comfortless”…St. John 14:13 Those left behind to cherish her memories and caring heart are her son; Terry Lee Allen, grandchildren; Audra Owens (Steve) and Angela Jackson, great-grandchildren; Dermont Lewis, Demry Davis, Swandrick Glenn and Courtney Davis, siblings; Doris Faye Wright, Mildred Davis, Dorothy Hines, Willie Ruth Hall (Ed), Earnest C. Allen and Wendell Allen (Evelyn) and a host of other relatives and friends.
