Roland Qualls

Dearest Roland, how we miss you, none but God alone can tell, but in heaven we will meet you, until then, farewell. Roland Curtis Qualls, 69, entered into heaven Friday, April 3, 2015. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at Serenity Funerals & Cremations. Visitation: noon to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. On March 13, 1946, in the great city of San Diego, California, a bouncing baby boy was born. His parents, Billy Joel and Nellie Qualls, named their gift from God, Roland Curtis Qualls. Roland joined the armed forces, the Navy to be exact, in 1963 and served faithfully to 1967. After serving in the Navy, he then entered the Marines, and continued service to his country for 4 more years, 1967-1971.  When Roland was honorable discharged from the Armed Services he moved to Wichita Falls, where he was employed as an Engineer. However, in 1984 he felt the call to move to Fort Worth, Texas and make it his new home. Consequently, it was in Fort Worth that he met the “love of his life”, the beautiful Delisa Annette Kennedy; and in 1988 the two became one in holy matrimony. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”, 2 Corinthians 5:6,   On April 3, 2015, Roland was called to be present with Lord in Heaven. Those left to cherish his precious memories are his loving and devoted wife, Delisa Kennedy-Qualls; his sons, Asa Lynn Kennedy, Brad Curtis Qualls, Chad Kurt Qualls and Darius Lance Qualls; seven grandchildren and one on the way…..Zoey; six sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law and a host of loving relatives and friends.
